Harrison Harding Island Lake

Testimonials From Our Valued Clientele

I have had the pleasure of knowing Steve Harrison for over twenty five years. My brother, Richard O'Ree (Coot) began the yearly tradition of taking his family fishing to Island Lake . Fortunately for me, I was introduced to Steve and thus the fishing tradition began for me as well. Island Lake is beautiful place surrounded by forest and wildlife. We would book our reservations around the middle of June with Steve. The rustic cook house and sleeping quarters are always very clean and comfortable. Steve's great hospitality always made us feel welcome year after year. I live in San Diego and look forward to getting back to Island Lake to fish with my home town buddies and of course coming home again to tell the fishing stories. To me, Island Lake is the best place to fish for Trout.

I have fished trout in seven provinces and eight countries and have fished at Island Lake for the last 18 years and currently fish there four times a year .It doesn't seem to matter what month its all fantastic-I have never found trout fishing anywhere that can match the fishing at Island Lake. The accommodations are comfortable and clean and while you are there with your party the entire lake is for your exclusive use .I had no idea that trout fishing could be this good; It's the best kept fishing secret in New Brunswick.

For five years I've made an annual fishing trip from Boston to Steve Harrison's Island Lake Camp and I have again booked to go this year. Steve operates an outstanding camp. The facilities are spotless, it has all the amenities and comforts of home, the fishing is always great and the boats are always well maintained and operate perfectly. The only sound at night is the call of the loons and the conversations of good friends sitting around a crackling fire. There is nothing more relaxing that spending several days at Steve's Island Lake Camp.

Perhaps the best lake for trout fishing in the Maritime Provinces, coupled with peace and serenity of a wilderness setting. Now, throw in great hosts, Steve and Joy, and the occasional visit from moose , deer and other wildlife, what more could you wish for? It's kept me coming back for over 10 years.

I have been coming to Island Lake for over 25 years. It is a beautiful,
isolated outdoor experience in the middle of "nowhere". The camp is very clean and comfortable and it has all you need to enjoy a great trout fishing experience. My last two visits I even brought my wife, Kristy, and my 11 year old daughter, Brittany, along with another family and some friends, and they enjoyed the experience as much as I did. I think they spent more time on the lake then anyone else in our party! It is definitely a great place to bring friends or family and it provides a nice break from our normal routines. The friendly rabbit and family of ducks also provide a great wildlife interaction experience for kids and adults alike. I would highly recommend Island Lake Fishing Camps for the experience of a lifetime.

We went out to Island Lake from August 14 to 20. This has been a family ritual for the past number of years. Many people have stated that it is "poor fishing" in August, however if you call catching and releasing over 100 fish, most over 12 inches, then we had "poor fishing". This lake has GREAT FISHING all the time. To even catch a few fish at this pristine lake with great accommodations and friendly staff is a bonus. We have no intentions of letting these dates go.
